Our assessment

We could not verify a current all-in borrowing rate from the public overview. Obtain the credit agreement and complete fee schedule before comparing costs.

Do not substitute a savings yield for borrowing cost

Lava’s public overview displays a 6.5% APY for its USD yield account. That is a different product from the Bitcoin line of credit. We have not converted it into a borrowing rate or repeated historical rate claims as a current quote.

Integration is useful only if the credit terms fit

An account that combines borrowing and spending can reduce transfer steps. Still establish the interest-bearing balance, payment obligations, fees and collateral release process. Spending convenience does not determine whether a loan is good value.

Verify the precise collateral arrangement

Lava states that it does not rehypothecate assets. Ask how that statement applies to pledged collateral, which entity is the creditor and what happens at default. Compare documented lending records and reporting; an unverified concern about Lava is not a proven failure.

How we weigh the evidence

Ledn’s operating record and published reports provide due-diligence material, not guarantees. Its reported investment-grade rating applies to senior notes of a specific securitization, not to customer collateral or every Ledn obligation.

Compare dated evidence for the exact product: collateral permissions, funding arrangements, performance during market stress and the borrower’s contractual rights. Different custody and funding models deserve specific analysis rather than a blanket safe-or-unsafe label.

A practical next step: Request quotes for the same net amount and planned repayment date. Keep collateral value, fee treatment and exit assumptions consistent. Use the cost calculator to explore how an upfront charge changes a short loan.

Common questions

Why is there no numeric Lava borrowing rate here?

The public overview reviewed did not establish a current all-in borrowing quote. The displayed USD yield APY is not a loan rate. A verified account offer is needed.
