A BORROWER’S COMPARISON

Ledn vs Nexo. Look at the whole loan.

Bitcoin borrowing with a focused evidence trail, or a flexible credit line inside a broader crypto platform.

Our assessment

Ledn’s BTC-backed product provides a defined lender and collateral structure. Nexo may fit a borrower already managing several assets within its ecosystem. Its low headline interest rate needs to be evaluated alongside eligibility and loyalty conditions.

The headline rate is not a like-for-like APR

Nexo advertises borrowing from 1.9% annual interest. The site says rates vary with region, loyalty tier and other applicable factors. This cannot be treated as a universal 1.9% all-in quote alongside Ledn’s published APR tiers.

Nexo’s loyalty program ties benefits to the proportion of NEXO tokens held relative to the rest of a portfolio. If an attractive rate requires acquiring or maintaining another asset, consider its price exposure and opportunity cost. Do not quietly exclude that decision from a loan comparison.

A broader collateral menu can be a real advantage

Nexo supports a broad range of collateral and presents its borrowing product as a flexible credit line. That can suit someone whose holdings extend beyond Bitcoin or who wants repeated access to liquidity within one account.

This comparison covers Ledn’s BTC-backed loan product. We are not treating a Bitcoin loan as interchangeable with every multi-asset credit line, nor relying on an outdated claim that Ledn as a company has no other products.

Trust requires specific documents, not category labels

Both companies describe operating histories beginning in 2018. It would be misleading to make longevity alone the deciding difference. Ledn also publishes reporting, separate reserve attestations and a reported senior-note rating for its ABS.

For Nexo, evaluate the current credit agreement, collateral-use rights, relevant entity and account-specific terms. Do not assume that an old comparison article accurately describes today’s custody or availability. For Ledn, read the permitted re-posting language rather than interpret “custodied” as “never used in funding.”

Match the product to the repayment plan

A flexible credit line can be useful when the borrowing schedule is uncertain. A fixed loan term creates a clearer planning date but requires an exit or eligible renewal. Neither structure removes the possibility of collateral sales.

Request a written comparison for the same net cash amount: interest after three months and a year, mandatory fees, collateral value required and what happens after a market decline. If Nexo produces a lower total cost under conditions you can comfortably maintain, that is a genuine benefit.

A practical next step: Request quotes for the same net amount and planned repayment date. Keep collateral value, fee treatment and exit assumptions consistent. Use the cost calculator to explore how an upfront charge changes a short loan.

Common questions

Can everyone borrow from Nexo at 1.9%?

No universal eligibility is established by the headline. Nexo states that rates vary by region, loyalty tier and other conditions. Use the current account offer and include any token-allocation requirement in your decision.

What should I compare beyond Nexo’s headline rate?

Compare lending records, public reporting and defined collateral terms alongside cost. A lower actual Nexo quote can still be relevant; the best fit depends on the borrower’s assets, eligibility and priorities.
